The Grant Museum

The Grant Museum is located in London.

This museum, which consists of a single large room, contains around 50,000 specimens.

A legacy of anatomy (1827–1996)

It was founded by Robert Edmond Grant in 1827.
A professor of zoology, he created the museum after discovering that there were no teaching materials at the University of London, so he began to collect some of the pieces that are now on display in the current collection. It officially opened to the public in 1996.

The Grant Museum takes about an hour to discover.
It is still mainly used by students from London universities.

Inside the collection

It exhibits extinct species and contains hundreds of animals in jars.
The visit is not for the faint of heart. The dog’s head and the sea lion’s head are a little heartbreaking to be honest.

But it’s always interesting to be able to visit an anatomy museum for free, and the line is way shorter than Big Ben’s.
